Helping Hand
You go thru life And say you’re alive When every day A part of you will die You wake up every morning And find that you’re asleep Clinging to what you knew Knowing none of it you can keep You ask yourself when This nightmare will end Only to find that It’s just starting to begin The strength you once had To get up off your knee Disappears and disintegrates Into nothing but a plea You cry out for help But no one seems to hear As you slowly slip back Into nothing but fear Your arm stretched forward As you bleed out Kicking and screaming You begin to shout Lying on the ground You’re all alone You try to make a noise It’s only a moan Broken and beaten You listen for a sound Then suddenly you realize You have been found A voice sounds out Loud and clear My daughter, listen to Me You have nothing to fear I’ve been here all along And I saw you fall I cried many tears As I watched you crawl So hear Me now As I offer you My hand You know I’ll only lead you To where there’s dry land You reach up and grab For the one hand that’s there Knowing that God Is the only one who cares. Suddenly the clouds Seem to clear As the waves calm And the waters disappear For the blood of Christ Is on your hand So on solid rock You finally stand
