Keeping it Real for Christ

Our Student Ministry is a group of young people from grades 6 thru 12 . We come together for fellowship, worship, and learning how to be disciples. We are not “Bible thumpers” or “holier than thou folks.”


We are definitely a come-as-you-are church and ministry. If we waited until we had good clothes or until we had all of our issues dealt with, then no one would be here.  Jesus did not wait for Matthew to stop being a tax collector, Jesus said "Follow me!" Paul was a murderer and Jesus said "Follow me!"


You may never be where you think you need to be in order to start a relationship with Jesus.   Come and see.

Purpose Statement

Our purpose is guided by the mission statement of the United Methodist Church which is: “To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”


Our Student ministry purpose statement clearly articulates our compelling vision of what First Church of Jefferson City would like their Student Ministry to accomplish. It also acts as a filter through which leaders of the ministry determine ideas which are implemented.


Our purpose is to: “To make disciples of Jesus Christ through the acts of missions, evangelism, worship, and fellowship.”

Permission form for youth activities

It’s a reality of life that sometimes things happen during youth outings that require medical attention.  For that reason, annually we request a permission form for all youth participating in off-site activities.
